We have heard people refer to someone making a mistake with “their eyes wide open”.  This obviously means that this is not surprise to that individual.  Today you need to open your eyes.  It is my intention to assure all that are in the audience today, that if you are in a state of living that is not pleasing to God you will have your eyes opened to where you will spend eternity. 

I – Sin is in the world

ALL HAVE SINNED
KJV Romans 3:23
23.  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

SIN DOES SEPARATE US FROM GOD
KJV Isaiah 59:1-2
 1.  Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
 2.  But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

II – We must seek him whom we are separated from

IT IS FOOLISH TO DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
KJV Psalms 14:1
 1.  The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD AND ONE CHRIST
KJV John 17:3
 3.  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

III – We must recognize the salvation that is in Christ

CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD
KJV 1 John 2:2
 2.  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

CHRIST LIFE WAS THE PRICE FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS
KJV 1 John 2:1-2
 1.  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
 2.  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
CHRIST WAS THE SACRAFICIAL LAMB
KJV John 1:29
 29.  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

THIS WAS AN UNMERRITED FAVOR – GOD SENDING CHRIST
KJV Ephesians 2:5-8
 5.  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
 6.  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
 7.  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
 8.  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

HE SENT CHRIST BECAUSE HE LOVED US
KJV 1 John 4:9-10
 9.  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
 10.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

CHRIST CAME TO GIVE HIS LIFE
KJV Mark 10:45
 45.  For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

HE WAS LEAD AS A LAMB DUMB BEFORE THE SHEARERS
KJV Isaiah 53:3-7
 3.  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
 4.  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
 5.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
 6.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
 7.  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
IV – We, through the word, can find salvation
 
 
 

THE WORD IS THE POWER OF GOD TO SALVATION
KJV Romans 1:16
 16.  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

IF YOU ARE IN THAT STATE TODAY WE WOULD LIKE TO PULL YOU OUT OF THAT STATE – DESTRUCTION
KJV Jude 1:21-23
 21.  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
 22.  And of some have compassion, making a difference:
 23.  And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

DO NOT HATE ME BECAUSE I TELL YOU THE TRUTH
KJV Galatians 4:16
16. Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

IF YOU LOVE CHRIST YOU WOULD KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS
KJV John 14:15
15. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
 

V – LIFE IS SHORT
A VAPOUR
KJV James 4:14
 14.  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

FIRST DEATH THEN JUDGMENT
KJV Hebrews 9:27
 27.  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

SOMEDAY YOU WILL BOW TO CHRIST – WHY NOT NOW
KJV Philippians 2:9-11
 9.  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
 10.  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
 11.  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
 
 
 

REALIZE THAT THE WORD REJECTED BY NON – BELIEVERS IS THE SAME OF WHICH THEY WILL BE JUDGED
KJV John 12:48
 48.  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

VI – YOUR EYES OPENED TO HELL
A LAKE OF FIRE
KJV Revelation 20:15
 15.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT
KJV Matthew 25:46
46.  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

TORMENT
KJV Luke 16:23-24
 23.  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
 24.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

OUTTER DARKNESS
KJV Matthew 8:12
 12.  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

IN CONCLUSION:
ACCEPT THE WORD AND CHRIST TODAY AND THE INSTRUCTIONS TO HEAVEN
KJV James 1:21-25
 21.  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
 22.  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
 23.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
 24.  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
 25.  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
 
 

ONLY THE TRUTH WILL SET ONE FREE
KJV John 8:32
 32.  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
