“GROWING IN CHRIST"
Introduction:  1. Christian life is a growth  2. It is a gradual growth. A constant growth  3. All begins as "babes in Christ." I Pet. 2:2  4. Some aged people become childish. Some of the brethren are harder to care for after twenty years in the service than they were immediately after they were born into God's family I. CHILD IS BORN INTO THE FAMILY. Gal. 3:26,27  1. Added to brothers and sisters in Christ. Ac. 2:47 II. CHILD CRIES, AND NEEDS ARE CARED FOR 1. Child of God cries, "Abba, Father." Gal. 4-6 2. Eyes of Lord -over to righteous and His ears open unto their prayers. I Pet. 3:12 III. CHILD DESIRES FOOD  1. Child of God desires food. I Pet. 2-2  2. Word of God necessary. Matt. 4:4 IV. CHILD DESERVES ENCOURAGEMENT  1. Child of God receives strength. Phil. 4:13 2. Some children demand more attention than is good for them. God has some of that kind, too V. CHILD NEEDS EXERCISE  1. Growth demands it  2. Christians exercise themselves. 1 Tim. 4:7, 8 VI. CHILD GLADLY LEARNS TO WALK ALONE  1. Doesn't want to be carried forever  2. Christians must walk worthy of vocation. Ep. 4:1 VII. CHILD LEARNS TO SPEAK  1. Repeats what he hears. Vocabulary grows  2. Christian learns to "speak as oracles." I Pet. 4:11 VIII. CHILD SHOULD BE TAUGHT TO WORK  1.
